SEU BRAND GUIDE

Updated February 2024

A Strong Brand is a Sign of a Strong Community

We are SEU. While we all have different functions within the university, we are all part of one SEU! Showing the spirit of our Christ-centered, student-focused community means showing who we are by speaking with one voice.

This site will give you tools to help ensure the strength of our brand.

Why is Our Brand Important?

An inconsistent brand experience is detrimental to our audiences’ trust.
A consistent brand is unmistakable.

Our commitment to a consistent brand means that someone knows they’re reading, seeing, hearing, feeling, or experiencing SEU. Every time someone sees the SEU brand — logos, colors, font system, messaging — it should evoke an emotion, a feeling, or a memory. They should instantly remember something unique to them, who we are as a university, and how we make them feel.

A consistent brand helps us achieve our collective goals, create efficiencies, serve our stakeholders, and fulfill our unique purpose. Our brand sets us apart.

What is Our Brand?

Our brand is everything we do, say, create, provide, and offer to our audience.

It’s how we make people feel when they hear or see our name, and it’s how we do it. If someone is able to instantly remember who we are as a university after experiencing our brand, then we have provided a consistent experience that builds confidence in us among our audiences.

It isn’t just what we see or read — it’s how we fulfill our promise of helping each person to discover and develop their Divine Design.

Simply put, our brand is what we’re known for.

Brand Components

Visual

The primary visual components of our brand include logos, colors, typography/fonts, and design styles (such as graphics, iconography, videography, and photography).

Written & Verbal

The primary written & verbal components of our brand include tone/voice, grammar, and brand messaging. Examples include positioning statements, brand promise statements, key messages, and marketing content.

Intangible

The primary intangible — yet just as critical — components of our brand include culture, vision, position, expression, promise, competencies, and personality. These intangibles are essential to cultivating personal and spiritual growth, honing problem-solving skills, and nurturing meaningful relationships — all of which honor our steadfast commitment to Christ.

Did you know that brands evolve over time?
